Second Wind is a public reading series pairing students in University of Montana's Creative Writing MFA program with UM faculty, alumni, and community writers. Admission is free, and the public is welcome. Join us! Six to 7 pm, at the Ole Beck VFW Post 209,  245 W. Main Street in Missoula.

Natalie Peeterse

Natalie Peeterse has an MFA from the University of Montana. She is the editor of Verde Que Te Quiero Verde: Poems after Federico Garcia LorcaShe was included in I Go to the Ruined Place: Contemporary Poems in Defense of Global Human Rights (Lost Horse Press). Her chapbook Black Birds : Blue Horse, An Elegy won the Gold Line Press Poetry Prize in 2011. A second chapbook, Dreadful : Luminosity, Letters, was published by Educe Press in the spring of 2017. She has been a fellow with the Arizona Commission on the Arts, a participant at the Squaw Valley Community of Writers, an artist in residence at the Caldera Institute and most recently a participant in the 2018 US Poets in Mexico in Merida, Yucatan. She is a recipient of the 2013 Artist Innovation Award by the Montana Arts Council. She lives in Helena, Montana where  she is on the board of the Drumlummon Institute and where she works on Open Country Press.

Connor McElwee

Connor hails from Philadelphia and writes fiction. He spent his undergraduate years in Connecticut at Wesleyan University where he majored in English and International Relations. He likes seafood. He dislikes the cold. His favorite stories are gutsy. The ones he remembers are the ones that leave him scratching his head.
